Nursery Inspiration

I have six days till my due date, I'm hardly getting any sleep of a night and I'm ready to meet this baby! So please don't hesitate to make an early entrance, you are most welcome too.

We have the cot set up near our bed but I'm seriously loving the above pics, would love to create something like them but at the moment all I can do is dream, sigh!
I look at a house tomorrow so fingers crossed it is the one!

Healthy Inspiration

If your after some health tips, eating advice, recipes etc then I highly recommend these beauty's!
They're all different in what they promote(The Beauty Detox Solution is veg/vegan and Clean & Lean loves it's meat, in healthy doses), but I like to just pick different parts of each and apply it to me which I think is the best thing. I'm not vegetarian(love my meat way too much), but I enjoy reading about other peoples perspectives and gaining knowledge on health in general!

I bought The Beauty Detox Solution on Booktopia a few months back and have been addicted to Green Smoothies(the Glowing Green Smoothie to be exact) ever since, it changed my life!
The last year has been about getting my health sorted, I was sick of feeling like crap so I knew I needed to do something about it, and so I did and there is no turning back.

From top to bottom- The Beauty Detox Solution, Eat Taste Nourish, Crazy Sexy Diet, Clean & Lean Diet and Clean & Lean Flat Tummy Fast!

This is one of the best cookbooks, so many easy tasty healthy recipes! I have it on Kindle for IPad but you can get it on Amazon or Booktopia, def a must!

I made this for dinner last night(pic from the book), with a green salad and sweet potato chips, so dingin' divine! Oh and if your wondering what the heck it is it's a Tuna & Zucchini Frittata from Eat Taste Nourish, very tasty indeed!

All About White Walls

White walls. Just perfection.
I will always have (mostly) white walls in my home, it's just so fresh and classic although I do love to add colour with accessories, a mix of yellow, blue, red & neutrals do it for me, how about you?

In other news we are still looking for a rental, there really is nothing around at the moment and I'm not even being picky, 3-4 bedrooms, fully fenced yard and built-ins are the main requirements, it's amazing how many houses don't have built-ins, very annoying!
I'm due on the 22nd of this month and would love to be in a place by then but it's not looking likely!

The sun is shining and hopefully will stay that way, we have plans to beach it tomorrow, have a good weekend xx

Quinoa Salad- roast sweet potatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, goats feta, avocado, capsicum, red onion, salt & pepper, lemon juice and macadamia oil and you have yourself a delicious lunch(or dinner)!

Country Road kids collection, I got the outfit on the left for my miss 2, could not resist!

Glasshouse Candles- (in mini size) my fave's at the moment are Galapagos (kaffir lime & cocoa butter), and Marseille (gardenia), one on my bedside table and one in the bathroom, just divine!
And in the background is a Table Tonic cushion (another fave).

I Quit Sugar

A few months ago Louise posted about a book she had read and loved it so I thought I'd get it to see what the fuss was all about, well let me just say that book (Elaine Hollingsworth's Take Control Of Your Health and Escape The Sickness Industry) spurred on a whole new way of eating and how I look after my family and I.

So over the last few months I have made some big changes, no more processed junk and no nasty chemicals, so I was very happy when Sarah Wilson(love her) brought out an ebook on how to quit sugar because that is one thing I have trouble with, eating too much sugar!

I'm currently in week 4 of the 8 week program and am feeling pretty good, although I do get the odd headache here and there, I fix that with more water and a lovely pot of Chai tea, which has been my saviour.

So if your keen to quit the white stuff I would definetly give it a try, Sarah's ebook is filled with a LOT of helpful tips and tricks which makes it that much easier I find.

So go on give it a try! xx

27 Weeks

Well it's certainly been awhile but I have some news, as of yesterday I am now 27 weeks pregnant with baby number three, a boy!!

So we are getting ready for the arrival and we need to move house and be settled in before Christmas, so that will be fun(not)!

I only ever wear stripes and have never really used them around the home, seriously I never knew how amazing and cool they could look, I'm a total convert and dying to give a space in the house some stripey love, I just need to decide where that will be!

OMG I tell ya it was major drama here at my very own sublime home!

It all started when my son wanted to watch a movie so I said sure I'll put in on the mac and you can lay in bed and watch it, well long story short there was no movie watching on my mac that night, it died and worse still the dvd couldn't come out so off to the repair man mac was sent and that folks is the story of why I haven't been around, but whoooo I'm back and it feels gooooood!

Anyway, I just got mac back today and found this loveliness on Pinterest, how divine is that turquoise ottoman? And the chevron rug and cushions?? Sigh...

I love looking at creative work spaces, I find them so inspiring and I love the fact that these spaces could be easily created at home, I want to take elements of each and incorporate it into my own (non-existent) work space, now all I need to do is narrow it down to what I like best, hmmmm that's not going to be so easy.

With this entry way/hallway I spotted a while back on Table Tonic, I 'm dreaming of the day my entry way looks like this so that means I need to start doing some hunting and gathering, I already own a few world globes and decor books so that's a start, but of course I'd add a little artwork here and there and maybe downsize the blackboard.

I love the world globes and the bench seat with the books and other pretties stacked on top and the ladder gives a nice touch, you like?

At the beginning of every year I always tell myself that this is the year where I will be bolder and braver in my fashion choices, to wear more colour and to master the art of layering.

And don't get me wrong every year I do follow these "rules", I guess I just like telling myself as a way to remind me to not be so boring. And so the above images are somewhat what I strive for and sum up pretty much what I'm trying to achieve, how I want to look and some of the pieces I covet.

Of course celebrities are a big help too but we'll save that for another day.

Oh what I would give to have a kitchen like this, isn't she just dreamy?

How genius are those mirrored top cabinets?! I'm not really a fan of overhead cabinets but if I were to have them then they so would be mirrored, also love the peek of blue when the doors are open and that retro looking toaster.

The unexpected blue ceiling is a lovely feature as are the pendant lights which are a bit unusual to what's been seen around lately and is anyone else now hungry for a banana?

Oh well back to dreaming it is for me xx

Rockin My Beauty World

Hello lovelies, how are you all?

I thought it would be fun to do a beauty post, I love to know what other people use and what products you all swear by, so please do tell!

Ever since my first pregnancy I developed a skin condition, Rosacea, before that I honestly had perfect skin so I was pretty annoyed, putting it mildly!

But thanks to my naturopath and Dermalogica (and saying bye-bye to sugar) it's improving a lot, so below are my beauty saviours.

For my skin I use the Dermalogica UltraCalming range, which consists of the Cleanser followed by the Mist then the Serum Concentrate, Super Sensitive Faceblock and lastly the Barrier Repair, also 2-3 times a week I use the Relief Masque.

I have heard some good things about Kora Organics and am actually keen to give it try, do you know anyone who has used those products?

And for make-up and body these are my current go-to's, Natio Spa Organics Coconut and Shea Body Butter, Natio Wellness Body Scrub, Natio Pure Mineral Foundation in Medium(which honestly gives the best coverage ever and is so lightweight, I think I will never stop using this), Revlon Colorstay Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss(the best bronzer in my opinion), Natio Lipcolour in Playful and ModelCo Gloss and Mascara that I got with a magazine.

This is mostly my daytime look, I just add eyeliner for night.

I love this mag and will forever buy it, there are just so many beautiful ideas in here that you can apply to any occasion, wouldn't you agree?

I'd also like to thank the lovely Jessie from Mix and Chic for awarding me with the "One Lovely Blog Award", a very nice suprise so thank you Jessie.

So first up I need to reveal 7 things about myself,

1. I was born in Australia, my family heritage is Aboriginal(on both sides), Dutch, Irish, English and Chinese.

2. I'm not fluent in any other language, I know a little Dutch and French but please don't count on me ever to translate!

3. Every house I walk into I can't help but redecorate and try to improve the layout in my mind, I've done this for as long as I can remember.

4. I'm addicted to chocolate and need to eat it every day, although I have recently given up sugar so it's more like a once a week treat(ok twice a week).

5. I tried BBQ sauce for the first time EVER early last year, I always thought it would be gross so could never change from my trusty tomato and guess what I love it!

6. I have been with my man for over 7 years and we have two beautiful kids, lucky me.

7. I dream of living in France for a year, one day folks!

Ok so that was a LOT harder then what I thought, not very interesting I'm afraid.

Well Howdy-Doo There

Don't worry I wasn't leaving for good, just had a big week last week that's all!

We spent last weekend (1st April) in Brisbane for a first birthday party then stayed Sunday night on the Gold Coast because it was my Son's Fifth Birthday so we took him to Seaworld where we had a ball, although he was a little disappointed that he wasn't quite yet tall enough to go on the rollercoasters, he asked why he was still the same size as when he was four, too cute!

At the first birthday, which was a dress-up party.

Hot and worn out at Seaworld.

On friday he had his operation to straighten his finger which I mentioned here, all went well and we go back this friday to get the splint removed, whooo!

Bookcase Of My Dreams

Hello beautiful bloggy friends, hope all is well!

I had the pleasure of going to Bangalow today(my sister in-law is a hairdresser) to get my hair done, which makes such a difference to how one can feel don't you think? Luckily enough I love it so feeling pretty darn good.

Anyway, moving on...I was reading one of my fave blogs and spotted this gorgeous bookcase and haven't been able to stop drooling ever since, I mean every element is just perfection, beautifully arranged, gorgeous colour palette swooooon! I'm going to add this as inspiration for my own bookcase which I need to get crackin on, but you can just bet there will be a pop of yellow here and there, love!

Oh and next Monday my darling boy will be 5(gasp), so we are taking him to Seaworld for the day, he's never been so should be lots of fun, then on the following Friday we will be taking him to Brisbane to have his finger operated on(he burnt it when he was 1), and have been waiting for 2years for the second op to straighten his finger properly, so now it's finally happening and there are mixed feelings (he's fine it's me that's a mess), but all should be well. Anyway sorry to rant, have a lovely day and I shall be seeing you soon xx

That yellow bedside table looks amazing against the dark gray walls, also the hint of turquoise in the clock and the teal photo frame breaks it up a bit so it isn't too matchy matchy, how cute are the framed dog prints above the bedhead, adorable me thinks!

I don't normally buy the Queensland Homes mag but when I saw it's cover (below) I just couldn't resist and boy aren't I glad I did, below is a little sneak peek of the home on the cover.

And after seeing the lovely Louise's kitchen(previous home) on the cover of Innovative Kitchens & Bathrooms I just had to buy it, her kitchen is definitely one of my all time favourites so this is going straight to the top of the "fave mags" pile.

Party Time...

No not really but I did do a little happy dance when they arrived yesterday afternoon. You see I'm kinda sorta updating my son's room and his most favourite colour in the world is green so when I saw these green ball party lights I knew I(well my son) just had to have them.

I'm either going to hang them along the top of the window or above the gallery wall I'm working on, what do you think? So far the gallery wall consists of this LOVE print from MadeByGirl and some of his own drawings but I do have my eye on some other cute prints to add.

Since his favourite colour is green I will so be adding this neon lime cushion from Table Tonic, isn't it just sublime?

maybe with this pale grey zigzag also from Table Tonic

or this tan safari pure silk cushion cover from Be Still

with lovely crisp white bedlinen and I'm thinking some of these on the floor(white pouffe from Ada & Darcy, blue & green from Table Tonic)

or even in natural or silver, yum!

This is very much a work in progress as I only have the LOVE print and green ball lights at this stage, but of course I will keep you all updated every step of the way.

Hello bloggy friends, how are you? Sorry I have been absent for the last few days, it has been jam-packed to say the least, we have family visiting from Canberra so I have scored a few moments to myself so naturally I had to catch up.

I did get time however to pick up this B-E-A-U-T-Y! Australian House & Garden Decorator's Handbook, which covers topics such as decorating, living, storage, kitchens, colour, bedrooms, bathrooms, children's rooms and outdoor(phew).

Filled with page after page of goodness and lots of helpful little hints, it's a must for any one in need of a little inspiration, fabulous!

I'm totally loving the mix of styles here. I'm so having light floorboards when we buy and those red chairs, amazing!

So many things to love about this living room, there's the gorgeous hand-painted wallpaper, the velvet sofas, blue cabinetry with mirrored back display shelves oh I could go on, it's definitely a look I would love to try someday!

Eeek! My dream kitchen, need I say more!

It's rooms like these that make me really appreciate (and want) a Chesterfield, to me this living room is thisclose to perfection. I'm feelin the love from that rug ooohhhh I likey also the gorgeous white pouffes, the coffee table, the moroccan lanterns, the beautiful vase with the pretty pink and white flowers, what's not to love! Thoughts?

I'm loving siiiiick these fabrics which etsy seller RockyTopDesign makes into bedding for cots and beds, I'm thinking A, D & F will look super cute in little miss R's cot(not all at once of course), there are loads more fabric choices too, I'm off to put my order in!

Yellow Roses & A Happy Weekend

Hello lovelies how are you all on this (drizzly) Saturday morning? Keeping well I hope!

So yesterday I made a trip to the florist and picked up some beautiful yellow roses, you like? I'm a huge fan of tulips but yellow roses do come a close second, they're so bright and cheery.

To be honest my bedside table never looks that tidy, but lets just keep that to ourselves shall we!

The black and white spot cushions are from POP by Sheridan, they are fab and the lamp is from Ikea(which I posted about here) and the "Love Sweet Love" print is from the darling Alicia author of super cool blog Atypical Type A, if you pop on over to her blog you can get a free download of this sweet print here.

4. How devine are these Rebecca Minkoff Doll Pull Tab Booties?! Would rock these with some pretty dresses or my fave skinny jeans, lurvvvvve.

5. Loving this Alberta Ferretti dress, isn't it just too sweet? From my new fave Mumming In Heels.

6. Discovered this sweet Giraffe print from Once.Daily.Chic, my son would die he has a thing for Giraffe's (and animals in general), and I think it would look pretty good in his room.

Hello lovelies, how was your weekend? Filled with love and happiness I hope! I thought I would continue on the pink theme I'm seeing lately, I'm not really a pink kind of girl but I'm starting to change my mind and am feeling inspired to add some pink here and there, what about you does pink tickle your fancy?

I am loving the pink wall in the kitchen, with the beautiful bright white it just pops also my favourite ghost chairs look amazing here. And you can't go past the beautiful pink bedroom just gorgeous don't you think?

There is so many colours I'm loving lately I feel I just want to use them all at once but I guess like everything I need to find the right balance, what do you think?

Just a few things today so here is the round up!

1. For Like Ever poster which is on it's way to me, I got in just before they had sold out so pretty happy bout that one!

2. Loving that gorgeous blue chair, isn't it just amazing? The whole space is dreamy really. Pic from Arianna Belle(loving her blog too).

3. OMG I have to have this perspex desk, so heavenly don't you think? It's from an Aussie company named Penny Farthing Design House and they have so much more awesome cool stuff on their website, check it!

4. I'm currently working on my mood/inspiration board which I painted silver, definitely a work in progress, everything in this pic I LOVE. The bird cage(remember this post) is a lovely sunny yellow but for some reason it looks orange here, I'm just seeing how it looks in my room but I think I will move it soon to the living room, so we'll see. And my vase(that I picked up for $8 at a second hand shop a few years back) is a bit lonely, I usually have some sort of greenery in it but have been a bit slack today I just didn't have the time.

Yay it's that time of the week again where I round up my faves, wants and needs, so here they are!

Well hello there lovely! I want this entire outfit by none other than the fab Anthroplogie store, you can shop the look here!

I do love a scented candle and the Glasshouse range always gets me, at the moment it's Galapagos(Kaffir Lime and Coco Butter) that's doing it for me! I love them on the bedside table, in the bathroom, kitchen, anywhere you like. Yum!

So yeah I have (finally) caught on to the craze that is Plastichic (although I think I may have missed it), and I love it, it's the classic baby pink and it makes me happy indeed!

How gorgeous is this Love cushion I found on Etsy, me wanting very much although I think I'm going to have a try at making one for myself, she will be perfect with my Table Tonic cushions once the mini bedroom makeover is complete, don't you think?

I really do love my Monarch Butterfly vase from Have You Met Miss Jones, I just couldn't resist so of course I had to get it, love at first sight!

I'm in the mood for some lovely calming and soothing neutrals today, must say I'm feeling very inspired, hope you like?

How gorgeous is this bedroom, I love the framed picture hanging above the bed and ok who am I kidding I love it all!

And this bedroom too with the wicker side table and bird cage, also the mosquito net is a lovely feature wouldn't you agree?

How divine to have an entrance as this one, I'm really loving white-washed floors at the moment, can't get enough! Also I love the beautifully arranged pieces on the table, not fussy and not overly done, just relaxed which is how I like to live.

Ohhhh yummy! I really like rustic looking furniture and this storage chest is perfect!

My Sunday Morning

Hello friends, how are you today on this lovely Sunday morning?

I'm doing a bit of a clean up starting off with some magazines I have lying around, oh and what I mean by clean up is just make the pile tidier more organised so my favourites are at the top, I wouldn't dare throw any of them out, much to Mr Slime's (sublime but shortened, you like?) delight!

So you wanna see a pic, I am prepared to show you only one of the piles so here goes.

I couldn't fit the whole stack in the picture, lovely isn't it?

And there is plenty to more to add to the ever growing collection with the lovely Louise giving out some recommendations(and very cheap subscriptions whoo), thanks Louise!

Well tomorrow I'm off to Brisbane to do some shopping at Ikea, looking very forward to that, I have been on the hunt for some bedside lamps but haven't really found anything that stands out so I thought I would check out the Ikea website and much to my delight they have just what I'm looking for.

It's the Barometer Work Lamp, be honest what do you think? And at $79 each I think that's a pretty good price, I wonder because now I'm part of the Ikea Family if I get a discount, now wouldn't that be yummy!

Her blog is filled with beautiful and inspiring images, the most delicious food recipies (which I can't wait to try for myself) and a host of other goodies you need to see for yourself so please do have a look!

The cover of the latest Vogue Australia, pretty darn lovely wouldn't you agree?

Soon to arrive on my doorstep is the ever so gorgeous Colias Birdcage from Crate & Barrel, strictly for decorative purposes only as I have a major fear of birds! Eeek!

Ohhhh boy have I got it bad over this Samantha Wills Xanadu Cuff, you will be mine!

You really can't go past a Table Tonic cushion(or anything else by Table Tonic really), and this Yellow & White Ikat cushion has my heart doing backflips, ouch!

And on a more subdued note(but not at all less amazing) is this living room from the latest issue of Home Beautiful, absolutely love everything about it, how about you?
